New house at the bottom of the garden

To provide independent accommodation for our client’s parents a new  house was built at the bottom of a large garden of an existing house.   Although this was not a big site, careful use of the area available and thoughtful design, allowed for a substantial home to be constructed.

Whilst looking quite modest, the  design provides a deceptively substantial living space. Built along more traditional plans, the property comprises 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms and two reception rooms with a open plan kitchen breakfast  and additional sitting area.  The  sitting area off the kitchen fully opens out onto the patio via glazed doors allowing the gardens to be fully appreciated.   The new property is screened from the existing house by trellising and shrubbery.  Independent access is via the road at the bottom of the garden of the existing plot.
